Scott's Hillside Farm

Cow Comfort Project

With the next generation already actively involved in Scott’s Hillside Farm, this century farm deemed the Delaware County Farm Enhancement grant a godsend. Utilizing funding for a cow comfort project, the work done on this farm enhanced the environment for the animals allowing for better feed access and increased cow comfort, ultimately yielding greater milk production. Mr. Scott also notes how much easier and safer it has been to work with the animals with the installation of the new headlocks. All these features are essential to the longevity of the operation. As more family members take growing roles in the operation, the business needs maximize its capacity. Increased productivity and efficiency are cornerstones in this process. The family looks to continue reinvesting in the maintenance of the farm that has been built over generations, hopes to expand their land base and diversify into beef production to continue to add capacity as more family look to join the enterprise.
