10:45 AM – Review of Yield and Quality Effects of Manure Injection on Sod in Delaware County (15 mins)–

Paul Cerosaletti and Dale Dewing, Cornell Coop. Ext. of Delaware County

11:05- 11:25 AM –Quantifying the Value of Manure for Corn Production In NYS and Delaware County (20 mins)

Juan Carlos Ramoz Tanchez – Cornell University Nutrient Management Spear Program

• A review of results from the statewide on-farm research trials quantifying the effects of manure for corn production beyond just fertilizer replacement value. Data presented will include data from Delaware County.

11:30 – 12:00 PM–Prevalence of Seed Corn Maggot in NYS and Effect of Neonicotinoid Seed Treatments on Control and Yield

(30 minutes of pest management) Mike Hunter – NYS IPM Field Crop Coordinator

• A review of data from statewide on-farm trials in corn and soybeans, including two plots in Delaware County that seek understand how prevalent this and other seed pests are and whether neonic seed treatments are affecting these pests and crop yields.

12:40 - 1:00 PM –Effects of Liming on Soil Nutrient Availability in Delaware County and the NYC Watershed (20 minutes)

• Analysis of multiple years of liming on plant available nutrient levels in fields in the Watershed Ag Program Cropland Liming Pilot project.

1:05– 1:55 PM – Mycotoxin Management in Forages (50 minutes of pest management)

John Winchell – Alltech Northeast, Sales and Technical Support

A review of crop production factors that that influence growth of mold diseases and production of mycotoxins in haycrop and corn forages and strategies minimize their prevalence in the field and manage mycotoxins in rations.

2:00 – 2:45 PM–Fungal Disease Prevalence and Control in Corn and Soybeans At-planting and Late-season

(45 minutes pest management) Dr. Camelo Parada Rojas – Cornell University

A look at common fungal diseases in corn and soybean in NYS and options and effectiveness of fungal disease prevention using systemic fungicides applied at planting or topical fungicides applied late in the season.

2:50 – 3:30 PM - Status of Herbicide Resistant Weeds in NY and Late-season Annual grass control in corn and soybeans

(45 Minutes pest management) Mike Hunter – NYS IPM Field Crop Coordinator

• Current status of herbicide resistant weeds in NYS and a review of herbicide options and management to improve late season annual grass control in corn and soybeans.

3:30 PM – 3:45 Adjourn and attendees pick up course certificates

Recertification Course Certificate Control Procedure:

The course certificates will be filled out by participants seeking credits at the start of the meeting and held by the organizer during the meeting. Only those participants that have been present for the duration of the meeting will sign the course roster at the end of the meeting and have their certificate returned to them.
