Private Certified Pesticide Applicator Training with DEC Recertification Credits 

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County will be hosting a training for farmers who are seeking to become certified private pesticide applicators with NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), and for those who are already certified who wish to obtain continuing education credits for recertification, on February 3, 2026 from 10:30 AM until 3:30 PM at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County Education Center at 34570 State Hwy 10 Suite 1, Hamden NY 13782.The course has been approved by NYS DEC for 3.0 Core continuing education Credits. The $10 per person fee for the training includes lunch. The course will be taught by Cornell Cooperative Extension Educators Dale Dewing and Paul Cerosaletti and NYC DEC pesticide control specialist Sarah Whelan and is designed to prepare individuals to take DEC exams to become a certified private pesticide applicator. The course also will serve as a refresher for those already certified on basic pesticide safety and handling, the certification and recertification requirements and process, and NYS Pesticide applicators laws. For those seeking to become certified, earlier registration is requested to facilitate timely securing of certification manuals.
