Our semiquincentennial celebration series continues with this 4-H sewing workshop where youth will create a festive "Jelly Roll" placemat inspired by the colors of the American flag. Using pre-cut fabric strips, participants will learn basic sewing skills to create jelly roll tubes which will then be quilted together to create a placemat they can use at home or for holiday gatherings. Youth will build creativity, confidence, and practical life skills while celebrating American history through fabric and design. Jelly rolls are very versatile, so once youth know the skills, the sky is the limit on what they can make (placemats, rugs, baskets, etc.) Spots are limited, so please register at link provided.
