Ag in the Classroom

Cornell Cooperative Extension Delaware County (CCEDC) is excited to announce the launch of our Ag in the Classroom program in collaboration with Franklin Central School.

Through this new initiative, CCEDC educators will be offering daily, hands-on programming for elementary students as part of their school day. Students will explore where their food and fiber come from through fun and interactive activities such as:

  • Creative crafts
  • Taste testings
  • Working with farm-fresh produce
  • Engaging play
  • Agricultural literacy lessons

This program brings agriculture to life for young learners, sparking curiosity and building connections between the classroom, local farms, and the food on their tables.

Field Trips

Take your students to the farm!  From apple orchards to creameries, our county is so rich with food production and we are so fortunate to have farmers who want to share their work and farm with students!

Seasons on the Farm

Established in 1985, New York Agriculture in the Classroom (NYAITC) is a partnership of Cornell University, the NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets, the NYS Education Department, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and the New York Farm Bureau. Its mission is to foster awareness, understanding, and appreciation of how we produce food and fiber, what we eat, and how we live, by helping educators, students, and their communities learn about and engage with agriculture and food systems.
