Invitation for May 7 mural unveiling in Hancock

You are invited to join us for a Thriving Futures mural unveiling on May 7 at 2 pm in Hancock (41 Leonard St). Celebrate the completion of the mural titled “Welcome to the Upper Delaware” by David Krantz and Richard Lowe. This is one of 18 murals completed in communities across the Southern Tier as part of the 2025 Thriving Futures Mural Initiative sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension Smart Energy Choices in collaboration with Ithaca Murals. Two other murals by the Hancock Arts Alliance and community artists will be honored at this unveiling. The murals all depict different visions of what a “thriving future” looks like, covering themes like clean energy, environmental equity, and strong communities.

This spring, initiative organizers are hosting a variety of unveilings to celebrate a sample of completed murals:

  • May 7: 10 am Binghamton 49 Pine St. & 2 pm Hancock 41 Leonard St.
  • May 21: 9 am Ithaca 720 W. Green St.
  • June 4: 3 pm Trumansburg 5176 Searsburg Rd.
  • June 18: 11 am Bath 130 W Morris St. & 2 pm Elmira 215 Partridge St.

Each ribbon cutting celebration will give an opportunity to meet and mingle with the local artists and community energy advisors. The local community and officials are invited to learn more about the murals and the mission of the Regional Clean Energy Programs.
