About WHEP:4-H Educator Corrine Tompkins is excited to bring this education and competition opportunity to our Delaware County 4-H Youth. The Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) began in 1978 and was acknowledged with the Conservation Education Award by The Wildlife Society in 1996 and earned the 4-H National Program of Distinction Award in 2011.It is a hands-on environmental education program where youth explore and study wildlife terms, ID, eco-regions, habitat, judging the quality of wildlife habitat, wildlife habitat management practice, wildlife damage management, and more! This contest is for county level recognition only. There may be a more formal pathway to regional, state, and national competition in the future, including competing in teams. Please stay tuned and grow with us!  You can access study guides on the National WHEP website. If you have any questions, please contact Corrine Tompkins at (607) 865-6531 or emailcrb222@cornell.edu. She invites you to please sign up for the challenge at link provided below.
