Appliance Upgrade Program (AUP)
The Appliance Upgrade
Program (AUP) is administered by the New York State Energy Research and
Development Authority (NYSERDA), which oversees program implementation and
funding. NYSERDA collaborates with various partners to facilitate the program:
-
Participating Retailers:
These include major appliance retailers such as LG Electronics and Samsung,
which offer eligible ENERGY STARĀ® certified heat pump clothes dryers and
induction cooktops/ranges/stoves/ovens. These retailers provide
point-of-sale rebates to qualifying customers.
-
Participating Contractors:
State-approved contractors are enrolled to install eligible appliances and
perform necessary electrical upgrades. These contractors may receive
incentives for their services, including installation rebates of up to
$500 per dwelling unit, with additional incentives for projects located in
disadvantaged communities.
-
Regional Clean Energy Hubs:
NYSERDA's Regional Clean Energy Hubs assist low- and
moderate-income households in applying for appliance incentives. These
hubs provide support in submitting applications and connecting customers
with participating retailers and contractors.
