March 19th and 26th, 12 noon – 2pm
Retirement is different for each farmer and pushing the pencil is necessary to feel comfortable when approaching retirement. This 2-part series will take participants through the steps necessary to assess their financial resources, to match resources with a standard of living, to evaluate the best way to sell assets and to consider the specific rules revolving around Social Security, IRA’s, Annuities, and more. Targeted, simple worksheets will be used to help farmers put pencil to paper. Speakers include Gabriel Gurley of NYFarmNet, Mariane Kiraly of CCE Delaware County and Owen Kennedy of Farm Family Insurance.
There is no fee for the program but registration is necessary to receive the Zoom link to participate. Please register at: http://bit.ly/FarmRetire by March 12th in order to receive the packet of materials provided.
This program is sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County, NYFarmNet and the Watershed Agricultural Council.
